The ISMPP (International Society for Medical Publication Professionals) Europe meeting is always a highlight in our calendar, and 2020 was no exception.
The theme of the meeting was ‘Precision communication: achieving clarity, reach and value’, and it attracted a record attendance of over 350 medical publication professionals (MPPs) from communications agencies, pharma companies and publishers.
Cathy Baker, our Director of Medical and Scientific Services, was an active member of the programme committee that delivered an interesting and packed agenda featuring two keynote presentations, 11 roundtables, eight panel discussions and over 30 poster presentations.
New for this year from Spirit was the delivery of a series of live updates throughout the meeting. Scroll down to view members of our team providing highlights and comments on the hot topics being discussed.
Our very own Creative Director, Jude D’Souza, co-presented during a lively session that focused on more engaging ways to reach our publication audiences. This session questioned why our approach to delivering scientific content hasn’t moved with the times, and offered some practical advice. Finally, we enjoyed many interesting discussions at our booth and are pleased to share the Spirit Spotlight, a summary of the entire meeting, which can be viewed and downloaded below.
It was undeniably a highly thought-provoking meeting, which highlighted our need to evolve from being just publications-focused to achieving a broader understanding of medical communications and the changing environment we are working in. The topics discussed will inform our publication planning offering in the coming year, which is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our clients.
